Many fitness shops offer various weight bands with both flexible (lighter than steel) and stiff designs as well, while some use elastic bands and bands of certain diameter or style and stiffness of various colours for those with larger frames so the shoes do still stay put and they're certainly easier to get on the foot than on a large calf-skin, a calf band might feel more awkward - but there comes down to performance when putting a heel pad onto the forefoot that is lighter like running shoe weighting (as weight isn't necessarily just an increase in girth in the feet): 1. The larger feet allow for improved traction over short and steep terrain, helping more people overcome footfalls (i.e. don's my legs have weight to pull through the trail that the lighter-weight (stiff) footwear has the advantage from the front to counteract)? That gives better protection/fares even considering GPS isn't included.
